This file is intended to address the problem encountered in some configurations where Setup claims that approximately 4096MB of free space is required to install the application. FS98ptch_USOnly.exe includes a replacement setup that can be run from the user�s hard drive.

Important Note: While this patch should work on all language versions of Microsoft Flight Simulator 98, it has only been completely tested with the English version.
This self-extracting, self-installing file installs several modified files to correct known issues in Flight Simulator 98. This patch contains all of the Flight Simulator fixes that were included with the converter, plus several new fixes that are not included with the converter. The list of modified files and issues they addressed is included in the fspat1.txt file that the converter installs on your system.

The Flight Shop Converter for Flight Simulator converts aircraft and adventures created with BAO Flight Shop into a format compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator 98. You should run this converter on all Flight Shop aircraft or adventures created for previous versions of Flight Simulator.
The converter also installs several modified files to correct known issues in Flight Simulator 98. The list of modified files and issues they addressed is included in the README file that the converter installs on your system.
Save the file FSCONV98.EXE to a folder on your hard disk. It's a self-extracting file that contains the converter, a help file, and a README file. To extract the files, double-click FSCONV98.EXE after you copy it to your hard drive. Please review the README file carefully. If you have questions about using the converter, please see the help provided with it.

The converter was updated on December 2nd, 1997. This was to fix a problem sometimes experienced by NT users. If you use Windows NT and downloaded this converter before December 2nd, please download the new version.If you have previously installed the converter on a Windows NT operating system and are experiencing problems, the directions for the fix are as follows.
To fix an NT system that has been damaged by the installation of the Flight Shop Converter for Flight Simulator 98
- Locate your Windows NT 4.0 CDROM and place it in your CDROM drive.
- Start a Command Prompt session (START | Programs | Command Prompt).
- Place yourself on the system drive ( C:[ENTER] - replace C: with an appropriate value for your system if you did not use the default install location)
- Change directories to your NT system directory (CD \WINNT\SYSTEM32[ENTER] - replace the \WINNT with an appropriate value for your system if you did not use the default install location)
- Expand the following files from your NT CDROM (X: should be replaced with your CDROM drive letter):
expand x:\SETUPAPI.DL_ SETUPAPI.DLL [ENTER]
expand x:\CFGMGR32.DL_ CFGMGR32.DLL [ENTER]
- Delete the w95*.dll files (del w95*.dll [ENTER])
- Reboot your machine
Microsoft apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused thier NT using customers.
